Pelle Frau Nest leather

A renowned leader in sustainable operations, (the company has a solar-powered operations center that not only powers the plant, but directs the excess energy into the national energy grid), Poltrona Frau has been publicly dedicated to conscious practices for years, with official sustainability reports enacted in 2021. Recently, the Italian furniture brand announced its Pelle Frau Nest leather has evolved to more sustainable production processes.

The leather is tanned with reduced environmental impact—achieving a 15% reduction in total chemical use and a 10% decrease in water consumption through advanced wastewater recovery technologies.

Considering the company has been in the business since 1912, its inspiring to see the continued effort to bring efficiencies and responsible manufacturing to their operations.

HON Designs Sustainable Seating Line

The Confer is available in a variety of customizations and stains.

Interior furniture brand HON released a its first new chair design in over a decade, this time with circularity in mind. Meet Confer, the mid-century inspired chairs upcycled from scrap materials and available in 18 different stains.

Confer is offered with arms or in an armless design and with a variety of back styles. The frame crafted from hard maple, a renewable resource, and wood scraps from the manufacturing process are repurposed to create corner blocks for the chair's frame. In the spirit of continued circularity and reuse, additional wood scraps are sent to local farms to be used as animal bedding.

Kudos to HON for promoting sustainability and reducing waste, setting an example in reuse, and minimizing overall waste.
